Thunderbird Email Settings

If you have an email address other than, please reference our Email Settings for Email Clients article.

You can download Thunderbird at

  1. Open Thunderbird.
  2. Go to the File menu (three horizontal lines), then go to Options, and select Account Settings.
  3. Click the Account Actions button in the Account Settings window and then click on Add Mail Account.
  4. Enter Your Name, Email Address, and Password.
  5. Click Configure manually and then click Continue.
  6. Change the Hostname for Incoming and Outgoing to
    • Change Port for incoming to 143.
    • Change Port for outgoing to 587.
    • Change the Username for incoming to your full email address (i.e. and the outgoing will change automatically.
    • Click Re-Test and then click Done.
  7. Your email is now set up. Click OK in the Accounts Settings window to return to the main Thunderbird window.
